Kathmandu (HT): Rescue teams are searching for survivors after severe flash floods struck areas along the Nepal–China border, killing at least 165 people.
Nepalese police said 162 bodies had been recovered, while Chinese authorities reported three deaths in Tibet’s Gyirong county. Hundreds of residents, tourists and foreign nationals remain unaccounted for.
The floods destroyed villages, roads, bridges and energy infrastructure. Nepal’s army has deployed helicopters and emergency teams, while China has ordered a major search operation.
