SANA’A (HT): Houthi forces have reportedly taken control of Yemen’s entire Red Sea coastline following a rapid advance against forces supporting the internationally recognised government.
The development increases concerns about the security of Bab al-Mandeb, the strategic waterway connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden. Any disruption could affect shipping, fuel supplies and food imports across Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia temporarily suspended operations along its East-West oil pipeline after a drone attack reportedly launched from Iraq. Iraqi authorities announced an investigation and dismissed a regional army commander following confirmation that the drones originated from Iraqi territory.
