Qatar’s Prime Minister Heads to Tehran in Push to Revive US–Iran Talks

Tehran (HT): Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is visiting Tehran for talks aimed at reducing tensions and restoring dialogue between Iran and the United States.

Qatar said the prime minister would meet senior Iranian officials and discuss regional security, diplomatic mediation and the continuing dispute over the Strait of Hormuz.

The visit comes as the conflict involving Iran approaches its sixth month without a lasting diplomatic agreement.

US President Donald Trump has said Washington is not in a hurry to resume negotiations, while Iran continues to demand sanctions relief and the release of frozen assets.
