Jos (HT): More than 20 people have been killed and several others injured after gunmen attacked a community in Nigeria’s Plateau State.
The attack took place in the Binper community of Mangu Local Government Area between Monday night and early Tuesday, according to residents cited by local media.
Witnesses said armed attackers entered homes while residents were sleeping. Several people were also reported missing following the attack.
Those injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, while residents called on authorities to strengthen security and pursue those responsible.
The incident adds to continuing security concerns facing communities in parts of central Nigeria.
