Mogadishu (HT): A claim shared in some Somali media said that a Somali government aircraft crashed in Baydhabo. This information is not true.
The reports said the plane was attacked while trying to land at Waajid Airport in Bakool region. But after checking, there is no proof this happened.
According to SomaliFactCheck.org, officials confirmed that:
- No government aircraft is missing
- No plane landed or crashed in Baydhabo or Southwest State
The Minister of Security of Southwest State also said the claim is false and no such incident took place.
Experts say if a government plane crashed, it would be clearly reported by official sources.
